ADDAC System: ADDAC705 VC Stinggy Filter

Author: Takazudo | Published: 2026/06/07

This is an introduction to the ADDAC705 VC Stinggy Filter by ADDAC System, available at Takazudo Modular.

The ADDAC705 VC Stinggy Filter is an 8HP multimode analog filter inspired by the legendary EDP WASP filter. It can output four filter types — lowpass, bandpass, notch, and highpass — simultaneously from individual jacks, and its main output features a switchable distortion circuit.

About the EDP WASP Filter

The ADDAC705 takes its inspiration from the filter of the EDP WASP, a famous synthesizer. The module is not a mere recreation, however: with four simultaneous filter outputs, switchable resonance clipping, and distortion and phase inversion on the main output, it offers functionality beyond the original and can be put to a broader range of uses.

Interface Overview

On the ADDAC705 VC Stinggy Filter panel, the knobs are at the top, the switches in the center, and the input/output jacks at the bottom.

The knobs at the top are as follows:

  • INPUT GAIN: Adjusts the amount of signal fed into the filter.

  • FREQUENCY: Manually sets the filter's cutoff frequency.

  • Q: Sets the amount of resonance at the filter frequency.

  • CV GAIN: An attenuator for the incoming CV that controls the cutoff.

The switches and rotary controls in the center are as follows:

  • CLIPPING: Switches the clipping characteristic of the resonance (no clip / diodes).

  • DEPTH: Switches the resonance depth (Low / High).

  • MAIN OUT FILTER TYPE: Selects the filter type (LP / BP / NP / HP) sent to the main output.

  • DISTORTION: Adds distortion to the main output (on / off).

  • INVERTED PHASE: Inverts the phase of the main output. This lets you obtain even more filter types when mixing the main output with the individual outputs.

The input/output jacks at the bottom are as follows:

  • Inputs: AUDIO IN (signal input), CV IN (CV input for the cutoff)

  • Outputs: MAIN OUT, LOWPASS, BANDPASS, NOTCH, HIGHPASS

The Four Filter Outputs and the Main Output

A key feature of the ADDAC705 is that it provides four filter outputs simultaneously: lowpass, bandpass, notch, and highpass. These four individual outputs are clean, direct outputs that bypass the distortion circuit.

The MAIN OUT, on the other hand, is an output where the filter type selected with MAIN OUT FILTER TYPE can have distortion added via the DISTORTION switch and phase inversion via the INVERTED PHASE switch. By combining the main output with the individual outputs, you can create an even wider range of filter effects.

CV Control

The cutoff frequency can be voltage controlled with CV fed into CV IN. The incoming CV is attenuated by the CV GAIN knob, letting you adjust the depth of modulation. By patching an Envelope or LFO here, you can perform dynamic, CV-based filter control just like with a typical filter.

About ADDAC System

ADDAC System is a modular synthesizer maker based in Portugal.

Their lineup is built on solid, no-nonsense modules that make the most of analog character. At the same time, they have released plenty of inventive modules that bring digital technology into the mix in a tasteful way — flexible CV-to-MIDI converters, deeply controllable granular processors, and more.

Bonus: Modular Accessory Set by 電氣美術研究會 (Denki Bijutsu Kenkyukai) Included

Logo: 電氣美術研究會

In the hope that more people will get hands-on with modular synths, we have teamed up with 電氣美術研究會 to bundle a modular accessory set with this product.

The contents vary by season — patch cables, power cables, a dress-nut sample set, a mono splitter, and more. The set is included with the product, so please give it a try!

That concludes the introduction to the ADDAC705 VC Stinggy Filter.

With its four filter outputs and distortion, this module can be used as a simple filter or, by combining multiple outputs, for more elaborate sound design — making it a deep and versatile filter.

If you're looking for a filter, please give this one your consideration as well.
